The Shougang Peru Iron 10 million tonnes beneficiation automation project is located in the Marcona region of Nazca Province, Ica Region, on the southern coastline of Peru. The project covers the design, programming and commissioning of the DCS control system for the entire beneficiation process, including raw ore feeding, high-pressure roller mill, screening, grinding and classification, magnetic separation, flotation, concentrate concentration, dewatering and tailings concentration. The project was completed on 31 July 2018.
The project adopts ABB's DCS system and the network adopts a redundant network, realising a double redundant system of the system hardware remembering the network. For the first time, advanced mineral processing expert models, reliable actuators, the introduction of fuzzy control, neuron network control, model predictive control, expert control systems and other advanced control technologies, the various production links of the mineral processing plant, etc. are integrated in a large control system to achieve efficient and collaborative control of all aspects of mineral processing such as high-pressure roller grinding, grinding, separation, concentrate dewatering, tailings conveying, water systems, etc. in the mineral processing process.
Shougang's 10 million tonne iron ore concentrate expansion project is an important achievement of China-Peru production capacity cooperation and the : first project of "One Belt, One Road" in Latin America, and the successful completion of this project is a strong impetus for opening up new markets in South America and accelerating the pace of internationalisation.
